Hot Air Balloon Cake Smash Theme- Archie's Cake Smash
Well, this hot air balloon backdrop is proving mighty popular! The blues and whites of the backdrop, with the lovely hot air balloons, create classic timeless photos. It was a clients choice, and I am so glad to have it in stock, as I managed to squeeze Archie in last minute. Ordering backdrops can take up to 6 weeks, so if you want a different theme, make sure to book in early!
Most parents come to my home studio in Bromley, South East London, but I'm hoping to offer a mobile service soon. Mobile cake smashes will be available to most London and Kent postcodes for a £50 additional cost. My goal is to always make your life easier and your photography experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Cake Smashes at Francesca Weeks Photography begin with a portrait session. Most clients bring their own outfit for these. It's a great chance to have some updates for your wall. We managed to squeeze in a few immediate family photos for Archie's family. He had such gorgeous blue eyes and a cheeky little grin.
What happen's if my baby doesn't eat the cake?
Next follows the cake smash itself. Some babies love the cake and yes, some babies cry. It is the second occurrence which is why I request parents to bring along baby's favourite snack. Sometimes I place the snack behind the cake, so that you won't be able to see the snacks in the photo, but it does end up looking as though baby is eating the cake. It can also warm baby up to eating the actual cake.
Alternatively, we can sing, dance, do whatever distraction your baby needs to be happy! Parent's have also previously got involved by getting stuck in and messy with their little Bub. You may want to bring a change of clothes just in case.
Cleaning up
You may notice, the babies get messy! The messier the better for truly smashing photos.
Luckily, the messy play is ended with a bath time. Bath time is the "splash" element of the cake smash, where your little one gets to splash around in a little bath. It is here which is usually baby's favourite part, it was definitely Archie's!
Important things to note about your Cake Smash
It is really really important to let me know if your little one has any allergies. Not only food allergies but also bubble bath. I use bubble bath in the little bath tub at the end, but I always ask prior to adding it, if you prefer, we can just use water.
Dairy allergies or other allergies can be catered for. If you don't fancy your baby smashing a cake, we could always use a watermelon, or jelly, or any other kind of food source that makes you happy.
Don't fancy a cake smash? We could use paint for your little one, for your little artist to create a canvas to celebrate your little one's birthday, you will then have their artwork to keep as a memory of the day. Let's have a pre-consultation to discuss all of your preferences, go through any questions you might have, to talk through and plan your session, or anything else you may need to ask.
Here's what Archie's family had to say about the session:
"We had the most wonderful experience and I could not recommend Francesca more. Our little man was not the happiest when we arrived and Francesca was more than understanding and patient with us. She greeted us soooo warmly it felt like we were friends not clients. Shes so professional and definitely knows what shes doing with kids. she had a little outfit for him, and as little man is dairy intollerant, she completely catered for him with the cake and supassed all expectation. She made 2 very nervous parents feel at ease and comfortable, we ended up having a laugh and was overall a great experience. We have some beautiful photos of our little family and a whole bunch to awwwe and laugh at of little man which we will cherish forever. They are simply perfect. 100% in all aspects!!! Thank You so much!!!" -Jo
