I have been photographing newborn babies for over 5 years and trained with some of the top photographer's from across the world. The safety of your tiny baby is my priority when creating timeless imagery for you to cherish. I am well known for my heartfelt parent and family images, as well as my sleepy newborn portraits. I always strive to make every session relaxed and an amazing experience for you to remember. From positioning your new bubba, to singing lion king to toddlers, I am here for you.
When Should I Book my Newborn Session?
You can book a Newborn session at any stage in your pregnancy, when the due date is known, and we will finalise a date once baby arrives and we know that you are both safe and well! Early booking is preferential, to avoid disappointment, but last minute availability is occasionally possible, so please do not hesitate to enquire.
Do you do travel? Can you do the Newborn Session at our home?
Yes, I provide mobile Newborn Sessions for an additional £50 charge, within a perimeter of Bromley; which includes London and Kent postcodes. Please enquire with your address and send photos of available space for the session to take place. I will bring the appropriate props with me, which we will discuss in your pre-consultation.
How do I book?
Email, call or fill out the contact form on my website to book. I take a limited number of newborn bookings per month, these are booked by due date (as an approximation). A £149 session fee is required to book the session and we will have a consultation to go through the details of the session, your preferences, whether your new baby has siblings etc. My Newborn sessions are bespoke to you, so I like to prepare ahead of time and it is a great chance to talk before the session, as the first 2 weeks of your baby is such a special time. Once baby has arrived, message me within the first 2 days or so, so that we can schedule your official session date.
Aesthetic
Where do you want to put the images? How do you want them displayed? Ask yourself these questions when deciding the colour choices/ looks you wish to opt for. A lot of my clients go for neutral tones with a touch of pink or blue, but it is up to you how you'd like the images styled.
The Session
You have just had a big lifestyle change! A new little sleep stealer has invaded the family home and stolen everyone's hearts. This sleepy, wrinkly, adorable tiny human will only be tiny for so long. They soon morph into 5 month old, sleep regression not so tiny humans (trust me, this is my current life! Enjoy the sleepy while you can). It is in this early, baby-moon period that is best to document their fresh into the world newness.
The ideal age to capture your tiny baby's features is between 4-14 days old, this is when they are at their sleepiest, giving the best chance for those adorable sleepy poses. I have a range of backdrops and props to make your session perfect. Newborn sessions normally last between 2-4 hours, so please allow adequate time for those gorgeous sleepy poses. The room will be warm for baby's comfort, so please take that into account when deciding what to wear to a session.
I love family, sibling and parent poses! I take brother/sister and relevant family images at the beginning of the session, as young children get bored easily, giving the best chance for cooperation! Snacks and toys work as great bribery and the dad's normally take the sibling(s) out after their turn (preventing boredom!) Most of my sessions take place on a weekday, for weekend sessions, there is a £50 additional charge.
What to bring
If you are breast feeding: breast feeding is welcomed at my studio! If you need advice/ help with breast feeding, please ask, I regularly help my clients and offer helpful tips regarding breast feeding.
If you are bottle feeding: Please brig extra milk, as the room is kept warm, babies often need to feed more regularly then they normally would.
I have all of the necessary equipment and newborn styling for the session at my studio. If you would like to include something special from home during your session, please let me know in advance, so that I can plan accordingly.
An extra change of clothing for yourselves may be helpful, as being peed/pooped on is not uncommon!
Can I gift a Newborn Session?
Yes, of course! Gift Vouchers are available, should you choose to gift a Newborn Session. The lowest voucher I offer for this service, covers the Newborn Session fee with 5 digital images, costing £349.
