Your Newborn Session at Francesca Weeks Photography
Newborn babies. Tiny, fragile, heart stealing little cuties. In the initial 2 weeks, they enjoy staying curled up in womb-like poses and catching more Zs then most of us get in an entire year. They soon fill out, become more alert, and start to babble, and it ends up being hard to remember what that newborn stage looked like. Trust me; my 7 month old little blondie looks nothing like the 6lb 7oz dark haired beauty I first set eyes on!
A newborn session helps flood back the memories of your first giraffe steps into parenthood. Framing your beautiful little bubba in their earliest beauty!
Baby brain is a real thing, and booking in photos can often be forgotten or overlooked. Booking in early, when your due date is known, means that you can secure the time to sit back and admire your newest creation. Take time to pause. To absorb the oh so lovely rolls that form across your baby's back, the tiny fingers and toes that you made, and the delicate little features that make your baby your baby.
The Session
A newborn session, with me, is done in the first 4-14 days of your baby's life. The sessions are held in my cosy home studio in Bromley, where I create the perfect environment for you baby. Your baby is safe in my hands, allowing you to sit back and admire your bubba. The sessions are between 2-4 hours long, very baby-led! The timespan allows for feeding, cuddles and nappy changes.
Each session is bespoke to you and your taste. Colours, props, family poses... Let me know what you like, and I will plan your session with your aesthetic in mind.
What makes me different? Well, I am passionate about meeting babies from all cultures. I am blessed that I have met babies whose parents are from all over the world. I love the diversity of my portfolio! I’m particularly well known for my family images, creating photos that show strong bonds and characters. My clients regularly say that my easygoing nature led to a relaxed and enjoyable session.

Francesca put my son and I at complete ease on the day, and she was able to create a relaxed environment to allow my son to not fuss whilst his pictures were being taken - she even took the time to show me a few tricks to help soothe him at home. I can’t recommend Francesca enough, we had a fabulous experience with her; both my husband and 8 day old daughter were made to feel very relaxed. It was my first outing out after a Caesarean section and I felt like we were all in safe hands and even picked up a few tips from Francesca in relation to handling and calming a newborn she is professional and personal and knows exactly what she’s doing. Francesca took some fabulous pictures of our newborn son, my husband and me, just a few days after we'd got home from hospital. With the baby being so new, I really wasn't sure how it would go, but the atmosphere was calm, relaxed and baby led. Francesca handled our little one with practiced care and I was at ease throughout. The pictures are brilliant - we love them. I'd thoroughly recommend Francesca for family shoots.
Absolutely loved our newborn session with Francesca today, she is very welcoming, friendly and talented, handled our bubba with the most care, he was kept happy and calm throughout the whole session thanks to her lovely charm. The studio is very well equipped with a large variety of props and is also kept at a comfortable temperature for bubba. Can't wait to see our final photos xxx

Francesca was amazing Despite Reign being my 3rd baby this was my first experience of a newborn shoot and i was nervous about my baby being handled by a stranger as soon as i got there she put me at ease right away she was so gentle and knew exactly what she was doing she got Reign to sleep very quickly and he was soo relaxed the whole time. My Style
My style is very neutral, with a pop of pink or blue normally. I love deep earthy tones, or a mixture of greys. I try and match the colours that will best suit your baby's skin tone. I have a range of props, including several new items! I buy quality props; soft wool to place your baby on, beautiful wooden props, hand knitted teddies, lush backdrops and more!
Poses
There are a range of newborn poses that are done on a bean bag (I have a specialist beanbag for newborn photography).
The first is by far the most recommended by my clients...
