Sharing is caring

January is almost over! It has actually gone like a flash for me, I feel like it was only just Christmas, like we were only just relaxing *sigh*...

I am back to work with a passion, getting out albums and finding new, beautiful props for your sessions. I love high quality props, props that look stunning and will look so cute with your little one placed in them, on them, with them!

Privacy

Having your photos shared is an opt in option. Of course, I love to share my work and your beautiful selves, BUT, I also value your privacy! Sharing is definitely optional.

Recently, I have not been able to share too many albums, so I chose to invite baby Amelie to my studio to showcase some of my newer props.

(I do offer a social media preview for clients who opt into sharing- a little sneak peak of your session- normally within a day of the session)

So, what's new?

One of my favourite new props is my honey bucket. I just love everything about it! The shape, the colour, the beautiful wood. It is such a perfect size for little babies. Baby Amelie posed beautifully, featuring a few more of the newest additions to my prop collection. She wore the softest new bunny bonnet, complete with a tiny little bow. Perfect for a little princess! The faux plants added a hint of nature to the image, making for a great final piece that would look stunning hung on the wall. Let's not forget the little bunny as well! I have quite a few mini toys... I just love snuggling bubba's up to them, this time, Amelie actually held the cream bunny!

The Maya daybed, what can I say, a daybed fit for a newborn, have you ever seen anything as cute? Well, maybe that adorable baby smile! The soft mattress from Cwtchicoo, one of my favourite suppliers, made this set up pretty in pink! I couldn't resist purchasing it, with the multiple textures and soft baby pink tones, the woven blanket just looked so lush! Again adding the faux Queen Anne's Lace to complete the image.

Furs furs everywhere! Well, this is actually sheep's wool that I get from Cwtchicoo in Wales, a specialist newborn photography supplier. The wash, dye and make such beautiful products. This particular one is called a fairy fur and is sourced from a particular breed of sheep. I do love blue tones on girls, not all little princesses wear pink! I have so many delicate little headbands, literally loads, that I match with the various accessories! Luckily for me, this set was purchased together, so I knew that they would be harmonious!

I finished off the session with one of my classic family photos- to say thank you for the parents for bringing little Amelie to me. It was such a lovely session, and Amelie was the perfect model!

A few other props that you may have seen on my instagram or facebook page include this gorgeous bowl prop! the tone of the wood is so natural and neutral. Natural wood pairs so well with different colours. I am a big fan of dusky pinks, navy blues and other complimentary neutral colours (browns, greys). It's one of the perfect props that will create an image that can fit in almost any room in your home.

Last but not least, a lot of people wonder how the plain background images are achieved. I have a large, specialist beanbag for newborn photography. It has a frame attached and the large surface area is perfect to pose your bubba on! Have a look at some examples...

I have already got an abundance of newborns scheduled for the new year, excited mums who are also having a maternity session with me! I definitely offer more then just a session. The length of a newborn photo session can last between 2-4 hours. In that time, I discuss the ins and outs of breast feeding, share handy tips, and generally get to know you! I do love my job, and I definitely have a soft spot for tiny curly newborns. With an almost 8 month old bubba myself, it does help me revisit the newborn stage (I miss it! Enjoy the sleepy phase whilst it lasts! Zzzzzzzzz).
