3 stages of cake smash fun
Cake smashes can be great fun. Some cute portraits, a baby tucking into a giant cake and a bubble bath to end the madness. I love pairing fab colour schemes and capturing the little girl or boys expressions as they see their birthday cake! The particular smash that I am sharing with you today is Heather's, which took place at my home studio in Beckenham.

To celebrate, this little cutie had a cake smash photo session, complete with a dairy and soya free Birthday cake.
I always begin with some adorable portraits. Your baby grows so quickly, so capturing that little pre-walking stage is great for later comparison. Baby Heather posed happily, and even kept a cute little headband on for a bit!
Heather's mummy chose a fabulous pink and grey theme with white accents, which looked great in her photos. I hand made the nappy cover and provided beautiful bunting to match, complete with grey backdrop.
For her cake, she had a pink and white frosted chocolate sponge cake (provided by me), which as the following images show, she enjoyed very much! The cake was both soya and dairy free, to cater to her allergies.
It is safe to say that there wasn't much cake left at the end! A very messy Heather was then placed in a lovely warm bubble bath in a grey tub (to match the theme of course!). She laughed and laughed as she splashed about in the water, a great way to finish off the cake smash.
Her mummy loved all of her images and is even using a few of them on her thank you cards.
"Francesca ran a cake smash session with tub time for my daughters first birthday. She was excellent at interacting with Heather and getting the best out of her. The set up was excellent and the room was warm enough for the tub time photos with plenty of towels. Best of all I didn't have to clear up any of the cake mess! The photos are beautiful and have had plenty of compliments. Wouldn't hesitate to use again."
